Heather Talbot was born and raised in Greenville, Texas. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Memphis. Following graduation, she was a Level 3 Nursery and Labor and Delivery Nurse at Methodist Germantown in Memphis where she managed all levels of risk pregnancies and provided intrapartum, postpartum, antepartum, newborn, and postoperative gynecological care to women of all age groups.
Heather married George Talbot whose position as the Political Editor of the Mobile Press-Register moved them to Fairhope. Heather began working in the Birth Center at Thomas Hospital in 2001 and while working, completed a Masters Degree in Nursing Science at the University of South Alabama in 2005 to become a Nurse Practitioner. Heather completed her Ob/Gyn practicum with Dr. Shoemaker and had worked closely with him as a nurse in the Birth Center, so her coming into practice with him was a natural progression. Heather is also certified by the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, placing her on the cutting edge in the management of the pap and annual exam.
Heather and her husband George have two children, George Downie and Cecelia, and she loves spending time with her family and traveling.
